Fast-rising Nollywood actress, Akinyanju Omobolarinde, known as Ashabi Simple and engaged to the controversial singer Habeeb Okiki, popularly recognized as Portable, disclosed that she occasionally experiences jealousy when she observes her fiancé interacting with other women. This revelation was shared during an interview with Punch, as reported by Naija News.
Ashabi expressed that despite the busy schedule of the ‘Zazuu’ crooner, he manages to allocate time to be with her. She emphasized Portable’s protective nature regarding their relationship.
She stated, “In terms of relationships, he is very protective. Sometimes, seeing him with other women triggers a bit of jealousy in me, but I remind myself that he is a public figure. Nevertheless, he is always transparent, which is better than concealment. I am accustomed to it.”
Clarifying her standpoint on their relationship not being motivated by wealth, Ashabi emphasized that Portable is not coerced into actions, and she is self-sufficient. She highlighted her history of various jobs, from being a bus conductor and bartender to selling jewelry before venturing into filmmaking and managing roles in the industry, which enabled her to earn an income.
Showing admiration for Portable’s commitment to his artistry, Ashabi praised his dynamism and exuberance, acknowledging him as her role model. She underlined that despite his status, he remains vibrant and enthusiastic.
She added, “I strive to achieve my goals without competing with anyone. If there’s any competition, it should be with my husband, who is also an entertainer. He’s a role model to me. Despite his success, he maintains his lively and energetic nature.”
