In a recent development, the Osun State Police Command has apprehended eleven individuals suspected of engaging in armed robbery, conspiracy, and theft. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Hope Okafor, disclosed this during a press briefing held in Osogbo on Monday.The press briefing was convened to highlight the achievements of the Command in recent operations, according to Okafor. She detailed that the suspects were apprehended through various sting operations conducted by law enforcement.Among those arrested are Seyi Ojo (33), Kamorudeen Quadri (32), Ogbemudia Sunday (48), Fatai Toheeb (22), David Adebayo (43), David Aderemi (30), Olalekan Musiliu (35), and Ayodeji Kehinde (39).The recovered exhibits from the suspects include a Toyota Corolla sedan, a Toyota Highlander, eight bags of dry cocoa beans, a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, assorted mobile phones, and a gold chain.Furthermore, it was disclosed that a suspect, Dada Taiwo, sustained gunshot wounds during a confrontation with the police and is currently hospitalized. Okafor emphasized that all suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crimes and will face legal proceedings after thorough investigations.The Osun police spokesperson urged individuals who have lost valuables to crimes to visit the police headquarters in Osogbo to ascertain if their properties are among those recovered from the suspects.”We urge the public to come forward with necessary documentation to prove ownership of recovered items at Police Headquarters, Ring-Road, Osogbo, Osun State,” stated Okafor, conveying the message on behalf of the Police Command.
