The recent heavy rainfall in Lagos led to severe flooding in the Alimosho Local Government Area, leaving many residents stranded as their houses were submerged. The downpour, which began around 6 am on Tuesday, caused streets and bridges to be flooded, disrupting vehicular movement, particularly in areas like Abule-Egba, Command, Agege, and Egbeda.Emergency responders from state and federal agencies swiftly mobilized to assist those trapped by the floods. Ibrahim Farinloye, the territorial coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the South West, confirmed the situation and advised residents of the Command Area to use alternative routes due to flooding on the nearby bridge. He reassured the public that NEMA, along with fire services and police, was actively engaged in rescuing individuals stranded in the affected areas.
