The Ogun State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has confirmed a fatal accident on the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, resulting in one fatality and six injuries.

Anthony Uga, Sector Commander of FRSC in Ogun, verified the incident, which occurred at 7:10 am, involving two trucks and a tricycle.

The vehicles involved were identified as a Sino truck (FST 926 YA), a Howo truck (GSW 180 XA), and a Bajaj tricycle (KLE 876 KT).

According to Uga, seven individuals were affected, with one casualty and six others sustaining injuries of varying severity.

Mechanical failure and excessive speed of the Howo truck were cited as the primary causes of the accident, as it collided with the Sino truck and tricycle from behind, both traveling in the same direction.

The deceased, identified as a pedestrian, has been transferred to the family, while the survivors are receiving treatment at the General Hospital.
