Two suspets have been arrested by the Edo State Police Command kidnapping of Pastor Imubhin Juliet from the Deeper Life Church in Benin City. According to Drivetvnews, the suspects are accused of not only kidnapping the pastor but also assaulting members of the congregation.

State Police Commissioner Funsho Adegboye revealed the identities of the suspects as Brown John, 26, and Ayodele Aziz, 30. He stated that the arrest was made by the command’s crack team following a tip-off, just two days after the incident occurred along the Benin-Auchi road.

The pastor reported that armed men entered the church during worship, robbed the congregation of valuables, abducted her, and forced her to disclose her ATM pin, which they used to withdraw money. The crack team intercepted the vehicle, a Toyota Highlander jeep, along Auchi Road and recovered it.

Brown John claimed innocence, stating he was merely accompanying a friend to deliver a vehicle, while Ayodele, also denying involvement, explained he was asked by another friend to escort the vehicle for a promise of payment. Both denied knowledge of the vehicle being stolen or of any criminal activity.
