Ondo state- Kidnappers slept off after abducting Pastor’s wife and others

Police detectives arrested five individuals suspected of kidnapping, who fell asleep after the abduction of a pastor’s wife and two other individuals. The suspects allegedly dozed off due to the influence of hard drugs. The victims managed to escape once their captors were unconscious.

The arrested suspects are Garuba Mumuni (27), Yusuf Tale (21), Kabiru Muhammed (16), Shaibu Umar, and Adamu Mohammed (22). They were apprehended by officers from the Ofosu Division after the victims recognized one of them.

The police received a report of kidnapping at the Ofosu Division, involving the pastor’s wife, a church member, and a person abducted while collecting snails on a farm. The victims fled on separate occasions after their captors fell asleep from drug use.

Through intelligence operations, five of the six kidnappers were captured on May 1, 2024, by Ofosu division officers, identified by the victims as part of the gang responsible for their abduction.

The state Police Commissioner, Abayomi Oladipo, stated that the suspects would face legal proceedings. Additionally, Adetokunbo Adesina, who confessed to planning the murder of over 500 individuals, was apprehended after receiving payment from his last victim.
