Bandits have kidnapped two nurses and several patients from a Primary Health Care Centre in Kuyello, located in the Birnin-Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
According to local vigilante Musa Alhassan, the bandits initially targeted the nearby Government Day Secondary School, arriving at approximately 9:00 am on Monday.
“When the bandits discovered that the school was empty, they redirected their focus to the nearby healthcare centre. They had visited the school around 9:00 am and inquired about the students. Finding the school vacant, they proceeded to the healthcare centre and began abducting individuals,” Alhassan explained.
“The bandits, who had initially intended to capture students, ended up taking two female nurses and several patients as hostages, causing widespread alarm in the community. The exact number of patients taken is still unclear,” he added.
“The bandits entered the healthcare centre armed with guns and machetes. They forcibly removed people from the facility, and there was nothing we could do to prevent it,” he said.
The spokesperson for the Kaduna State Police Command had not yet responded to inquiries regarding the incident.
