In Abuja, a young woman named Olivia was allegedly kidnapped and held at Top View Hotel in Wuse by a suspected internet fraudster, commonly referred to as a ‘Yahoo Boy,’ with the intent of using her for money rituals.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) apprehended the suspect, who is currently in their custody. The suspect is expected to be handed over to the police for further investigation.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the incident and is awaiting the suspect’s transfer from the NSCDC to begin a comprehensive and discreet investigation.

FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, acknowledged the circulating video footage of the woman who was reportedly confined at the hotel on September 17, 2024, by the alleged fraudster. She stated that while the NSCDC has detained the suspect, the handover to the police for proper investigation has not yet occurred.

Adeh assured the public that the police are fully prepared to carry out a detailed investigation once the handover is completed, and further updates will be provided as the case develops. She emphasized the police’s commitment to addressing public concerns and ensuring justice is served.
