A 24-year-old Sudanese citizen, Mohammed Sale Mohammed, has been arrested in Plateau State after he was reportedly found moving suspiciously in a bush within Mangu Local Government Area.
According to reports, the suspect was apprehended on June 10, 2026, after a local farmer, Danjuma Watse, observed his unusual behaviour and alerted security authorities.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Mohammed allegedly entered Nigeria through Libya and the Niger Republic before arriving in Plateau State. During questioning, he reportedly told investigators that he was part of a four-member group that crossed into the country through unofficial border routes.
Security agencies have launched further investigations to determine the purpose of his presence in the area and to locate the other individuals believed to have travelled with him.
Authorities are also examining possible security implications surrounding the case as efforts continue to uncover more details about the group’s activities and movements within Nigeria.
