A member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and legal practitioner, Kalu Kalu, has called on President Bola Tinubu to resign over renewed allegations surrounding his academic qualifications.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today aired by Channels Television on Thursday, Kalu argued that the controversy over the President’s educational credentials should be resolved through the public presentation of his primary and secondary school certificates.
According to him, the issue has persisted for decades and continues to generate public debate.
He stated that if President Tinubu publicly presents the certificates, the controversy would be brought to an end once and for all.
Kalu recalled that the matter was first raised in 1999 by the late human rights lawyer, Gani Fawehinmi, and later resurfaced during the 2023 presidential election. He noted that it has once again become a topic of discussion in 2026.
The ADC member maintained that the President should disclose his academic records to address lingering questions and insisted that Tinubu should step down from office over the allegations.
However, President Tinubu has consistently maintained that he fulfilled all constitutional requirements to contest the presidency. The Presidency has repeatedly defended his eligibility, while Nigerian courts have dismissed legal challenges questioning his qualifications.
