Osun State Governor and Accord Party governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, has appealed to residents of the state to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the August 15 governorship election, urging them to protect what he described as the gains achieved under his administration.
Drivetvnews gathered In a statement shared on his official X account on Thursday, Adeleke warned against a return to what he called the difficult period when workers allegedly endured unpaid and half salaries, forcing many civil servants into hardship.
The governor said the election presents voters with a choice between sustaining the progress recorded in the state and returning to policies he claimed brought suffering to residents.
According to him, previous administrations used poverty as a tool of governance by paying workers half salaries and leaving many families struggling to meet basic needs.
“We will not allow the APC to take Osun State back to the days when civil servants had to beg their neighbours for food,” Adeleke stated.
He called on eligible voters to come out in large numbers on election day and deliver what he described as a decisive verdict in favour of continued development, compassionate leadership, and good governance.
Adeleke also urged residents to remain united in defending what he termed the people’s mandate, insisting that Osun must continue on the path of progress.
