Popular Islamic cleric and actor, Femi Ajewole, widely known as Alfa Sule, has accused gospel comedian and preacher Ayo Ajewole, popularly called Woli Agba, of transforming their late father’s church into his personal ministry while gradually erasing the founder’s legacy.

Speaking during an episode of The Ajibola Akinyefa Podcast, Alfa Sule revealed that he played a major leadership role in the church while his father was still alive but deliberately avoided portraying it as his personal ministry.

According to him, although he oversaw many activities in the church, he remained committed to working quietly behind the scenes and preserving the vision established by his late father.

He explained that even after becoming one of the church’s pastors, he never referred to the ministry as his own, adding that he only stepped forward whenever it was time to preach.

Alfa Sule, however, alleged that things changed after the church relocated, claiming that the ministry had been rebranded and was now being run as though it belonged solely to Woli Agba.

He expressed disappointment that the church no longer visibly reflects the vision or legacy of its founder, saying his late father’s name is rarely mentioned and that there are no clear reminders of his contributions within the ministry.

Drawing comparisons with other churches founded by late clerics, Alfa Sule noted that many ministries continue to honour and celebrate their founders long after their passing, unlike what he said is happening in his father’s church.

Despite his concerns, he stressed that he has no intention of engaging in any dispute over the leadership of the church.

According to him, he remains committed to the vision God gave his late father while also pursuing the assignment God has entrusted to him, adding that he has chosen peace over conflict.
