A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, Adamu Yahaya, popularly known as Adam Fakai, has announced that he is withdrawing his support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Drivetvnews gathered that In a statement released on Friday, Fakai said his decision was prompted by what he described as a lack of recognition and appreciation from APC leaders despite his efforts in promoting the Tinubu administration.
According to him, he spent more than two years using his personal resources, time, and energy to publicise Federal Government projects and policies across the country because he believed in President Tinubu’s leadership and development agenda.
Fakai, however, alleged that neither the state nor the national leadership of the APC acknowledged or encouraged his contributions. He also claimed that some prominent political figures used photographs and videos of government projects he documented without giving him credit or reaching out to him.
He said the absence of appreciation influenced his decision to stop promoting the administration, adding that he believed he might have received better support if he had come from a different state.
Despite ending his support for the President, Fakai expressed gratitude to individuals who stood by him and encouraged his work throughout the period.
He gained prominence on social media for travelling across Nigeria to document major Federal Government infrastructure projects, publishing photographs, videos, and reports showcasing the Tinubu administration’s development initiatives.
