A disturbing video has emerged showing a kidnapped Kogi State resident, identified as AB Adebayo, popularly known as Kemuna, being assaulted by suspected bandits while pleading for his release.
Adebayo and his wife were reportedly abducted from their home in Iluke-Bunu, located in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, about two weeks ago.
In the footage, the victim is seen on the ground while his captors physically attack him. During the ordeal, he repeatedly appealed for mercy and assured the kidnappers that his family would provide the ransom they were demanding.
According to reports, Adebayo pleaded in Hausa, asking his captors to be patient because the money would be sent. Despite his appeals, the attackers continued to mistreat him while armed men stood nearby.
The video has sparked renewed concerns about the growing threat of kidnapping and insecurity in parts of Kogi State. Residents have repeatedly raised alarm over the increasing activities of armed groups, with many communities facing persistent fears of abduction and violent attacks.
Security challenges in several areas of the state have continued to affect daily life, prompting calls for stronger measures to protect residents and curb criminal activities.
