The Enugu State Police Command has launched an investigation into a man accused of killing his mother, mother-in-law, maternal uncle, and his uncle’s son.

The tragic incident occurred in the Amaeze community of Enugu State, with the suspect identified as Anaegbuachara.

According to a report by Drivetvnews, the situation began when Anaegbuachara sought assistance from spiritual practitioners, often referred to as “whites,” to obtain certain drugs. During questioning, he reportedly admitted to poisoning the food consumed by the victims.

It was further reported that a friend introduced Anaegbuachara to a spiritualist who promised him wealth. The spiritualist allegedly gave him a poisonous substance and instructed him to use it on his mother as part of a ritual. However, his mother unknowingly shared the poisoned food with other family members, including her mother-in-law, her uncle, and her uncle’s son, leading to their deaths.

Despite being aware of the lethal nature of the substance, Anaegbuachara went ahead with the plan. This act resulted in the deaths of all who ate the contaminated food.

Daniel Ndukwe, the spokesperson for the Enugu State Police Command, confirmed the incident and stated that an investigation is underway. He added that efforts are being made to ensure everyone involved in the case faces justice.

The police have assured the public that they are working diligently to uncover all the details surrounding the case.
