The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, has announced the passing of his immediate elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi, describing him as an accomplished entrepreneur whose life was defined by humility, leadership, and service to humanity.
Drivetvnews gathered that the monarch disclosed the sad news in a statement released on Sunday through the Director of Media and Public Affairs at the Ooni’s Palace, Sodiq Lawal.
According to the statement, Prince Adetunji’s death has left a profound void within the Ogunwusi family, the Ojaja Royal Dynasty, and the entire Ile-Ife Kingdom.
Born on December 8, 1967, Prince Adetunji was a member of the Ojaja lineage of the Giesi Ruling House in Ile-Ife and served as the Group Chairman of Primewaterview Holdings.
The Ooni praised his late brother for building a distinguished reputation in business through innovation, excellence, and visionary leadership while remaining deeply committed to humanitarian causes.
He described the deceased as a trusted confidant, dependable family pillar, and compassionate individual whose unwavering commitment to family values and selfless service inspired many.
The monarch noted that beyond his success in business, Prince Adetunji quietly transformed lives through generosity, wise counsel, and dedication to the welfare of others, consistently upholding the values of the Ojaja Royal Family.
Extending condolences to members of the Ogunwusi family and the people of Ile-Ife, the Ooni urged everyone to find comfort in the remarkable legacy his brother left behind.
He added that although Prince Adetunji’s earthly journey had ended, his impact would continue to live on through the lives he touched and the values he represented.
The monarch also prayed for the peaceful repose of his brother’s soul and asked God to grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family, friends, business associates, and all those affected by the loss.
