The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has unveiled key appointments into his campaign organisation as preparations intensify for the 2027 governorship election.
Drivetvnews gathered that the appointments follow the earlier selection of Chief Yemi Aderibigbe as the campaign’s Director-General, a move the party says is aimed at building an inclusive and effective campaign structure.
In a statement issued in Ibadan on Thursday, Alli announced that Hon. Sola Ogunbode will serve as Deputy Director-General, assisting in coordinating campaign activities across the state.
The campaign also named three Assistant Directors-General to oversee mobilisation in the state’s senatorial districts:
Barrister Lowo Obisesan – Oyo South
Rt. Hon. Asimiyu Alarape – Oyo Central
Hon. Rasaq Raji – Oyo North
According to the statement, the appointments are designed to strengthen grassroots mobilisation, improve coordination across the three senatorial districts and position the APC for a strong outing in the 2027 governorship race.
Alli expressed confidence that the appointees would contribute their political experience, leadership skills and commitment towards securing victory for the party.
He assured party members that the campaign would accommodate every stakeholder.
“This campaign will be all-inclusive. No one will be left behind. Every ward, every local government and every interest group within our party has a role to play. We are one APC family, and with unity of purpose, we will achieve victory together,” he said.
Among the appointees, Rasaq Raji is a grassroots politician from Igbeti in Olorunsogo Local Government Area. Asimiyu Alarape is a former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and a former Special Adviser under the late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, while Lowo Obisesan is a legal practitioner, Ibadan senior chief and former Commissioner for Environment during the administration of the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
