In a recent press briefing held in Abuja on Tuesday, the Nigeria Police Force issued a warning to Nigerian youths about the popular ‘no gree for anybody’ slogan that has gained traction on social media since the beginning of the new year. The police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, expressed concerns that the seemingly innocuous catchphrase could potentially lead to a significant security crisis. The catchphrase, widely embraced by the youth as a humorous motto for 2024, carries the message of refusing to tolerate any form of nonsense or bullying. Despite its seemingly lighthearted nature, Adejobi highlighted intelligence reports suggesting that the slogan might have far-reaching consequences, posing a threat to national security.Adejobi emphasized that what might be perceived as “normal talk” by some is viewed by the security community as a “dangerous” slogan with the potential to trigger crises across the country. The police urged caution and emphasized the importance of fostering a peaceful environment amid the prevalence of such slogans.
