Former U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that the United States could end its military involvement with Iran within the next two to three weeks.
Speaking at the White House, Trump stated that a formal agreement with Iran is not a necessary condition for the withdrawal. He suggested that the U.S. exit could happen soon, estimating a timeline of “two weeks, maybe three weeks.”
He also reiterated that Iran is not obligated to enter into any deal with him, emphasizing that the decision to disengage does not depend on negotiations.
Earlier, Trump had criticised some European allies, including the United Kingdom, over their handling of restrictions around the Strait of Hormuz. In a post, he urged them to take stronger action to secure access through the vital oil route.
Meanwhile, tensions remain high across the Middle East. Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, has recently experienced intense airstrikes, with Israel Defense Forces reportedly targeting a senior Hezbollah commander and another high-ranking figure.
Trump also announced plans to address the nation in a follow-up statement, as developments in the region continue to unfold.
