The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Mustapha Adekunle, popularly known as Sego, has endorsed Damilola Ayinde Marshal, daughter of Fuji legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1), for the Lagos State House of Assembly.
In a video shared on Damilola’s Snapchat page on Wednesday, the APC aspirant was seen presenting branded campaign caps to the NURTW boss during what appeared to be a political consultation meeting ahead of the party primaries.
During the meeting, Sego urged party loyalists and supporters to vote massively for Damilola during the APC primary election, describing her as the right candidate to represent Surulere Constituency II.
He stated that the development of Surulere required collective effort and expressed confidence in her ability to deliver effective representation.
The endorsement comes shortly after Damilola officially declared her intention to contest for a seat in the Lagos State House of Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress.
The lawyer and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism had earlier announced her ambition through her Instagram page, where she pledged to champion youth inclusion and quality representation.
According to her, her professional and leadership experience has prepared her for public office, adding that she is committed to being a strong voice for young people in the Assembly.
Damilola also described herself as part of a new generation of leaders focused on progress, development, and impactful governance.
She is expected to succeed the current representative of Surulere Constituency II, Mosunmola Rotimi Sangodara, who currently occupies the seat under the APC.
