Nigerian comedians Ayobami Ajewole, popularly known as Woli Agba, and Olamide Oladimeji, also known as Dele Omo Woli, have threatened legal action against individuals spreading allegations linking them to the death of gospel artist Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.
Woli Agba disclosed this in a public notice shared on his Instagram page on Sunday.
The notice, issued by their solicitors, Gemgold Solicitors, warned members of the public against publishing or sharing allegations the lawyers described as false and defamatory.
Dated October 23, 2026, the notice stated that the allegations were baseless and intended to damage the reputations of the two entertainers, expose them to public ridicule and encourage hostility against them.
The solicitors stated that the claims linking their clients to Toluwanisings’ death were entirely false, unsubstantiated and unfounded.
“Our Clients’ attention has been drawn to certain defamatory publications and online broadcasts containing false, baseless, and malicious allegations against them. These publications appear calculated to tarnish our Clients’ hard-earned reputations, expose them to public ridicule, and incite hostility against them,” the notice read.
The lawyers also warned that anyone who originated, published, forwarded or endorsed defamatory material could face legal consequences, including people sharing content from anonymous or untraceable social media accounts.
They urged members of the public to stop circulating unverified allegations about the entertainers, remove any defamatory content previously posted on their personal pages, blogs or social media accounts, and avoid endorsing such publications.
The solicitors further stated that their clients reserved the right to take legal action against individuals and media platforms that continued to spread the allegations.
“Any individual, blog, media platform, or social media user who continues to publish, re-circulate, or broadcast false and defamatory content against our Clients will face swift legal action, including claims for substantial damages and injunctive relief under applicable civil and criminal laws,” the notice added.
The lawyers also called on the public to verify information before sharing it, stressing the importance of responsible communication and respect for people’s reputations.
Controversy Over Toluwanisings’ Death
The development comes amid controversy surrounding allegations linking gospel singer Tope Alabi to the death of Toluwanisings and those of other gospel ministers.
PUNCH Online had earlier reported that Alabi threatened legal action against a Canada-based pastor identified as Tayo Kumuyi, also known as Pastor Tayo Ministries, over publications allegedly linking her to the deaths.
Alabi’s solicitors, Oakmount Legal Practitioners, reportedly issued a cease-and-desist letter dated October 24, 2026, demanding that the publications be removed and that a retraction and apology be issued.
The letter, titled “Cease and Desist: Malicious and Defamatory Publications and Threats Against Our Client,” described the demand as a final notice and gave the operators of the Facebook page 24 hours to comply.
