The Nigeria Police Force in Ondo State says it has arrested five suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction of two young brothers in Ore.
According to the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the children — Jehu (10) and Yohana (5) — were reportedly kidnapped on May 12 while going to school from the Jerry Sawmill area of Ore.
Police said investigations by the Special Anti-Kidnapping Squad led to the arrest of two initial suspects:
Taofeek Lukman, 23
Blessing Saturday, 27
Operatives reportedly recovered ₦251,000 believed to be part of the ransom paid by the children’s family before the victims were released.
The police also said an unregistered motorcycle allegedly used during the kidnapping operation was recovered from another hideout connected to the suspects.
Further investigations reportedly led to three more arrests:
Peter Moses, 25
Sunday Isaac, 23
Sanusi Dan Asabe, 37
According to the command, the suspects allegedly confessed and explained their individual roles in the operation, while efforts continue to arrest other fleeing members of the syndicate.
Felix Ohagwu praised the officers involved and said the command remains committed to tackling kidnapping and violent crimes across the state.
The police also urged residents to continue providing credible information to security agencies to help fight crime.
