Media adviser to former Vice President , Paul Ibe, has called on the Department of State Services (DSS) and other security agencies to invite Yoruba Nation activist for questioning over his claims regarding the abduction of students and teachers in Oyo State.

Ibe made the call on Thursday through a post on X, stating that security agencies should explore every credible lead that could assist in rescuing the victims and dismantling criminal networks responsible for the attacks.

His remarks followed comments made by Igboho during a meeting with officials of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), where the activist alleged that certain politicians were sponsoring kidnappers operating in parts of the South-West.

According to Ibe, if Igboho truly possesses information about those behind the abductions, security agencies should immediately engage him and obtain the identities of the alleged sponsors.

He stressed that all available options must be considered to secure the safe release of the abducted students and teachers.

Ibe also raised concerns over the Federal Government’s response to the reported abduction of more than 50 schoolchildren in Borno State, questioning why the incident had not attracted the same level of attention as the Oyo case.

He further called for stronger security measures in vulnerable states and urged authorities to take proactive steps against insecurity rather than waiting for tragedies to occur.

Earlier, Igboho had claimed that kidnappers operating in Oyo State could be dislodged if security forces allowed decisive action against them. He also alleged that some politicians were providing financial and logistical support to the criminal groups.

The development has intensified public debate over insecurity, political interference, and the growing threat of kidnapping across different parts of Nigeria, with many Nigerians calling for a thorough investigation into the allegations.
