Olamilekan Odofin, previously declared wanted for his involvement in a violent incident on January 9, 2023, has been officially arrested by the Lagos State Police Command. Alongside others posing as Yoruba Nation Agitators, Odofin orchestrated an attack in the Ojota area, disrupting social and commercial activities and resulting in one confirmed death and the injury of two police officers.Initially, a team of police officers from Alausa Division and the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) swiftly apprehended four suspects involved in the attack. Despite this, Odofin managed to evade capture, remaining at large for an entire year. However, on Friday, the Lagos State Police Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, announced the successful apprehension of the wanted suspect. In a statement shared on his official communication platform, the PPRO reported, “After over a year on the run, 34-year-old Olamilekan Odofin has been taken into custody by officers of Ayobo Division. The suspect, who orchestrated attacks on motorists and the police under the guise of Yoruba Nation agitation on January 9, 2023, is now in custody. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.”
