Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam 1, has called on prominent Yoruba leaders, including Sunday Igboho and Gani Adams, to take an active role in addressing the worsening insecurity in the South-West.

Speaking in a video shared on his Instagram page, Kwam 1 said the responsibility of tackling kidnapping, killings, and other criminal activities should not be left to President Bola Tinubu alone. He stressed that Yoruba leaders and influential figures across the region must unite to protect lives and property.

The veteran singer urged traditional warriors, community groups, and regional stakeholders from areas such as Ijebu, Ijesha, Ekiti, Ife, Egba, and Lagos to work together against criminal elements. According to him, the rising wave of abductions and killings has become a major embarrassment to the region and requires immediate action.

Kwam 1 also encouraged Sunday Igboho to respond to public calls for stronger intervention against insecurity. He appealed to traditionalists and local security groups to deploy every lawful means available to help eliminate kidnappers and other violent criminals.

Similarly, Fuji musician Abass Akande, popularly known as Obesere, appealed to President Tinubu to intensify efforts to address the country’s security challenges. In a video message, he urged the President to use the authority of his office to restore safety and protect Nigerians from kidnappers, terrorists, bandits, and armed robbers.

Obesere expressed concern that insecurity has created fear across the country and appealed to the government to take decisive measures to ensure citizens can live and work without constant threats. He warned that future generations would judge the administration based on how effectively it responds to the crisis.

The calls come amid public outrage over the abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State. The attack claimed the life of mathematics teacher Michael Oyedokun, who was reportedly killed by the abductors.

Since the incident, several entertainers, including Toyin Abraham, Kunle Remi, ID Cabasa, and Davido, have condemned the deteriorating security situation and demanded the immediate release of the victims. Kwam 1 and Obesere joined those urging authorities to act swiftly while praying for the safe return of all those still in captivity.
