In a tragic incident at 1, Odubanwo Street, off Olaniyi Street, Gbinrinmi in Ojokoro LCDA, Lagos, a cooking gas explosion has left a four-year-old girl, Faridat Shittu, along with her grandfather, grandmother, and uncle hospitalized in critical condition at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).According to reports, the explosion occurred on Sunday while Faridat’s grandmother was frying meat. The sudden ignition of the oil led to efforts to control the flames, ultimately resulting in the explosion of the cooking gas.Faridat, who was sleeping in the room at the time, was rescued along with other injured victims by community members. Unfortunately, the intensity of the explosion caused a fire that engulfed the 14-room building, including shops, leaving 11 families homeless.Medical personnel at LASUTH are now working tirelessly to save Faridat and the other victims, who suffered burns in the tragic incident.
