Joseph Aloba, father of the late singer Mohbad, is urging the Nigeria Police to summon his deceased son’s wife, Omomunmi, to provide insights into Mohbad’s death. In a statement released by the family and conveyed to Drivetvnews, Aloba seeks clarity on the circumstances surrounding his son’s passing.

Aloba had previously filed a suit to call additional witnesses to shed light on Mohbad’s demise. Among these witnesses are individuals who were reportedly with Mohbad at the time of his death, including Ayobami Fisayo (aka Spending), Boluwatife Adeyemo (aka Darosha), and Ibrahim Owodunni (aka Prime Boy).

The family believes that the testimonies of these witnesses, including Mohbad’s wife, could offer crucial information to the ongoing investigation. They emphasize the importance of Omomunmi’s cooperation in revealing pertinent details.

Concerned about the sensitivity of the matter, Aloba urges the police to provide security to Omomunmi for her safety during the testimony. He stresses the urgency of the investigation, highlighting the family’s need for closure and justice.

Additionally, Aloba discloses that he has initiated legal proceedings to conduct a DNA test for his grandson, Liam, at the Magistrates’ Court in Ikorodu, Lagos State. This move aims to resolve any uncertainties regarding Liam’s paternity for future considerations.

Despite the public nature of the paternity issue, Aloba emphasizes his duty to protect Liam from potential harm. He urges Omomunmi and her legal team to cooperate with the DNA testing process to ensure Liam’s right to a peaceful life without tarnish to his name.

Mohbad, who passed away at 27, was a former signee of Marlian Music. His death sparked controversies, leading to police investigation and the arrest of individuals, including Naira Marley and Balogun Eletu (aka Sam Larry). The autopsy results, awaited by the police, are yet to be disclosed.

In November 2023, Prime Boy, a key figure in the investigation, surrendered himself to the police. Aloba reiterates his authority over his son’s burial arrangements, emphasizing the family’s determination to seek justice and closure in Mohbad’s untimely death.
