Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has announced that she is no longer “on the streets,” a phrase often used to suggest that someone has found a partner or is no longer looking for love.
Drivetvnews gathered that the Grammy-winning artiste made the disclosure during a TikTok livestream on Monday, although she did not provide details about what prompted the announcement.
Tems explained that she had become tired of men wasting her time and said she no longer had to deal with such situations.
“I don’t like it when guys waste my time. But for me, never again. I don’t have that problem anymore. I have left the streets; I wouldn’t even say I was ever on the streets,” she said.
Tems had previously spoken about her experiences with men who approached her, saying some were more interested in her physical appearance than establishing genuine relationships.
In an interview with YouTuber Korty EO last year, she said she preferred meaningful and deeper connections.
