A tragic incident occurred on Friday when Lukman, a commercial bus driver operating the University of Ilorin route, passed away while transporting students to the campus. The event, which took place near Sanrab Petrol Station area in Tanke, Ilorin, left the vehicle’s occupants in shock. According to a passenger who witnessed the incident and shared details via a viral WhatsApp message, Lukman suddenly became unresponsive while driving, prompting the passenger to take control of the bus to prevent further harm. Despite efforts to save him, Lukman was pronounced dead upon arrival at the school clinic. Sulyman Malik, a colleague of the deceased, expressed surprise at the incident, recalling his recent conversation with Lukman about an accident Malik had been involved in. Lukman was laid to rest according to Islamic customs. University of Ilorin’s Director of Information, Kunle Akogun, confirmed the unfortunate incident, reflecting on the fleeting nature of life.
