During the Easter celebration in Ogun State, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported that 11 road crashes occurred, resulting in four fatalities and 40 injuries, as stated by Anthony Uga, the State Sector Commander. This information was disclosed during a briefing held in Ota at the conclusion of a four-day Special Patrol specifically organized for the Easter period.
Uga attributed the relatively minimal number of accidents to the comprehensive deployment of FRSC personnel, including Regular and Special Marshals, throughout the patrol period spanning from March 29 to April 2. He emphasized that the increased presence of FRSC officials helped mitigate reckless driving behaviors, which often lead to accidents.
While urging motorists to consistently adhere to traffic regulations, not just during holidays but year-round, the sector commander underscored FRSC’s unwavering dedication to enhancing highway safety through continued collaboration with other relevant agencies.
