National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, expressed profound sorrow at the passing of Junior Pope, lamenting that their initial joy turned into deep sadness.
In a Facebook post, Rollas revealed that despite initial signs of hope when Junior Pope showed movement in his fingers, efforts to revive him were unsuccessful, leading to his passing.
Despite the best efforts of two prominent hospitals, Junior Pope could not be revived, and his demise was confirmed, with only one of the four missing bodies identified so far.
Emma Onyemeziem, AGN’s Delta State chairman, confirmed that Junior Pope’s body was taken to a morgue.
Junior Pope tragically lost his life after a boat he was traveling in capsized in Anam River, Anambra State. Divers recovered his body along with others who were also on their way to a movie shoot.
David, a witness to the incident, revealed that the boat capsized while they were returning from a shooting location, emphasizing the risks they take to entertain, including crossing the river without life jackets, as depicted in a video shared by Junior Pope before the accident.
