The Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) successfully prosecuted and sentenced Ikemesit Edet, also known as Hustle Kingdom (HK), the owner of a Cybercrime Training Centre in Uyo.
According to EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale, Edet pleaded guilty to charges including impersonation, love scam, hacking/editing of social media accounts, and providing criminal tutoring. He was sentenced on April 17, 2024, following his arraignment by the Uyo Zonal Command of the Commission.
One of the charges against Edet stated that he knowingly allowed his premises in Uyo to be used as a Cybercrime Academy, where he recruited and taught young Nigerians cybercrime techniques such as hacking, impersonation, and advance fee fraud. This action violated the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act 2006.
