Anosikwa Patrick, a young man of 26 years, was spending time with his girlfriend, Joy Ebere, at Skymall in the bustling area of Ajah, Lagos. They were there to relax and enjoy themselves, but little did they know that their evening would turn into a nightmare.
Patrick, who came from a large family and had recently moved from the crowded Ajegunle to Ajah in search of a better life, found himself in a situation he never anticipated. As they were enjoying their time together, a police officer, whose duty was to ensure their safety, ended up causing harm instead. Patrick was stabbed in the leg by this officer, and tragically, it proved to be fatal.
Ebere, Patrick’s girlfriend, recounted the distressing events that followed. Despite their desperate attempts to get him medical help, they faced rejection and indifference from several hospitals. Their efforts to save Patrick’s life were in vain, as he succumbed to his injuries before reaching a hospital that could provide adequate treatment.
The senselessness of the situation left Ebere questioning why a police officer would resort to such violence against an innocent person. Meanwhile, Patrick’s family, filled with grief and disbelief over his untimely death, is seeking justice for their beloved son and brother.
The incident has sparked an investigation by the Lagos State Police Command, offering hope for answers and accountability in the face of this tragic loss. As they await the outcome of the investigation, Patrick’s family and loved ones cling to the memories of happier times, mourning the loss of a promising young life cut short by an act of violence.
