Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has released a new song in the wake of his recent arrest related to outstanding debt issues. Portable was apprehended by Lagos Police officers for purportedly failing to settle a debt concerning a luxurious G-Wagon vehicle he acquired.
According to reports by Drivetvnews, Portable’s arrest stemmed from his alleged failure to fulfill payment obligations for a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 bought from car dealer Ogunsanwo Temitope (Temmy Autos). Although Portable had initially paid N13 million of the N27 million total cost, he reportedly declined to settle the remaining N14 million balance.
Following a night in police custody due to his inability to meet bail conditions, Portable was released on bail the subsequent evening. Seizing the opportunity post-release, he promptly recorded a track titled “Spider Man,” offering a glimpse of it via Instagram. Produced by 2tuponthebeat, the song highlights Portable’s nimbleness and knack for overcoming obstacles, making references to his evasion of arrest by leaping over a gate.
This isn’t the first time Portable has used music to address legal troubles. In 2023, following previous arrest incidents linked to alleged assault and non-compliance with police summons, he released the track “I’m Not A Prisoner.”
