Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has claimed that he is now an ambassador for the Nigerian Police. This revelation comes days after the artist was arrested for failing to settle the balance on a G-Wagon car he purchased from a dealer in Lagos State.
According to Drivetvnews, Portable bought the vehicle valued at N27 million, paid N13 million upfront, and neglected to pay the remaining N14 million despite the dealer’s repeated requests. Portable allegedly insisted the vehicle was faulty whenever contacted about the unpaid balance.
Frustrated by Portable’s non-payment, the car dealer reported the matter to the police, leading to the singer’s arrest as authorities probed the case. Portable was released after meeting bail conditions set for the N14 million debt incurred from the G-Wagon purchase.
On Tuesday night, Portable took to Instagram, advocating for support of the security agency and proclaiming that the police are “our friends.”
Reflecting on his experience, he stated, “I believe that every disappointment is a blessing.” In his Instagram post, he wrote, “ZAzuu federal government libeliability Ọmọ ijoba Police Ambassador i do music 🎶 for living ….
