Abosede Olumiyi, the mother of the late singer, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has lodged a complaint with the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Lagos State Police Command, alleging that her ex-husband, Joseph Aloba, is threatening her life.
In her petition, Abosede recounted that she had to relocate to another residence in a different area due to relentless threats and harassment from her ex-husband, but Joseph Aloba persisted in his threats. She claimed that Aloba even disclosed her new address on social media, declaring his intention to track her down and take action against her, regardless of where she moved.
The petition stated: “This act has left our client living in constant fear and distress. Our Client is not demanding anything from Mr. Joseph Aloba other than to peacefully lay to rest the body of her deceased son, to enable her to cope with the trauma of losing such a promising child to the cold hands of death, prematurely. As a result, we respectfully request that the authorities intervene to protect our client from the impending danger posed by this malevolent man and to prevent her from being sent to an early grave.”
Abosede appealed to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and President Bola Tinubu to urgently intervene and safeguard her, her daughter-in-law, and her grandson from harm.
According to her lawyer, Kabir Akingbolu of Salawu, Akingbolu & Co. law firm, Abosede accused her ex-husband of threatening her life because she refused to participate in fabricating lies about Mohbad’s wife, Omowunmi, concerning the late singer’s death.
“We, therefore, trust that you will use your good offices to secure justice for our client by intervening to protect her life,” the petition concluded.
