The Osun State Government has issued a public alert regarding a security breach involving Governor Ademola Adeleke’s official telephone number, +234 803 365 7555. The number has reportedly been hacked, potentially allowing fraudulent communications to be sent from it.
According to a statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, the public is strongly advised to ignore any calls or messages originating from the compromised number. Rasheed emphasized that such communications are unauthorized by the Governor and should not be trusted.
Efforts are underway by the state government to address the breach and restore security to the Governor’s communication channels. An investigation into the incident has been initiated, with ongoing efforts to prevent similar occurrences in the future. Residents and officials are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or interactions linked to the compromised number.

Notably, incidents of state Governors’ phone numbers being hacked are not unprecedented, as evidenced by a similar occurrence involving Cross Rivers State Governor Bassey Otu on February 11, 2023.
