Rose Idibia, mother of renowned singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has publicly appealed for help, urging Nigerians to plead with Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, to distance herself from her son.

Her plea surfaced in a viral video that circulated on Thursday evening.

According to Mrs. Idibia, 2Baba is currently not in the right state of mind due to his ongoing divorce from his estranged wife, Annie Idibia.

“Good evening, Nigerians. My name is Mrs. Rose Idibia, the mother of 2Baba. This message is directed at Miss Natasha Osawaru of Edo State. I am calling on all mothers in Nigeria to help me beg her to leave my son.

“My son is going through a divorce, and he is not himself at the moment. I know my son well—this is not him.

“Natasha, please, the beads you placed on his wrist and neck, remove them and let him go,” she pleaded.

The viral footage, shared by DriveTVNews on Thursday, showed the moment 2Baba proposed to Osawaru.

In the video, the singer and the lawmaker were seen joyfully dancing while surrounded by friends. The clip later captured 2Baba presenting Osawaru with a ring before embracing her for an extended moment.

This development comes just a day after 2Baba publicly confirmed his romantic relationship with Osawaru, a revelation that quickly went viral on social media.

Speculation about their relationship had been circulating for some time, particularly after 2Baba was spotted at the Edo State Assembly and another video showed them together at a Lagos club.

Addressing the rumors, the African Queen hitmaker took to Instagram on Tuesday to clarify the situation.

“I have seen so many false narratives and misleading stories after I made my post. People have dragged Hon. Natasha, calling her names and labeling her a homewrecker.

“She is a young, brilliant, and amazing woman who had no involvement in what happened between Annie and me. Yes, I love her. She is incredible, and I want to marry her,” 2Baba stated.

Natasha Osawaru, a politician representing the Egor Constituency under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was elected to the Edo State House of Assembly in April 2023. She hails from Egor Local Government Area in Edo State.
