The National President of the Afenifere National Youths Council, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, has been abducted.
The organization confirmed the incident in a statement, revealing that Ojajuni was kidnapped on Monday, February 17, 2025.
Abiodun Aderohunmu, the National Secretary of the Afenifere National Youths Council, disclosed that the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of N100 million.
“The Afenifere National Youths Council is devastated to report the abduction of its National President, Prince Eniola Joseph Ojajuni, in Abuja, Nigeria,” Aderohunmu stated.
“This distressing incident took place yesterday, and the perpetrators have requested a ransom of N100 million.
“Prince Ojajuni sustained a gunshot wound on his buttock during the attack.
“We are extremely concerned for his safety and urge those responsible to release him without harm.
“Prince Ojajuni is a well-known advocate for youth empowerment and national development.
“We call on Nigerian authorities to act swiftly to secure his safe return. We also appeal to the public for any information that could assist in his rescue.
“The Afenifere National Youths Council remains committed to ensuring his safe release and continues to advocate for the security and well-being of all Nigerians.”
A member of the group, speaking with Drivetvnews on Thursday, confirmed the demand for ransom, stating, “The kidnapping occurred on February 17. The assailants shot the President twice. He has bullet wounds. They are insisting on N100 million or nothing.”
The source, however, could not confirm whether there were additional casualties or injuries during the incident.
