The National President of the Afenifere Youth Council, Eniola Olajuni, has regained his freedom after spending 12 days in captivity.
The National Secretary of the Youth Council, Biodun Aderohunmu, confirmed Olajuni’s release in a brief WhatsApp message to our correspondent on Saturday, simply stating, “He has been released.”
According to Drivetvnews, Olajuni was abducted on Monday, February 17, 2025, while traveling to Abuja for a scheduled meeting.
His captors had reportedly demanded a ransom of N100 million and two tricycles in exchange for his release.
Following a viral video in which Olajuni, held at gunpoint, pleaded for help from Nigerians, Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun took action on Wednesday. He ordered the deployment of the Intelligence Response Team to facilitate the safe rescue of the Afenifere Youth Leader.
