Nollywood actor Ganiyu Kehinde Morufu, popularly known as Ijoba Lande, has opened up about his marital struggles, suggesting that exposing certain individuals in the entertainment industry could put him at risk.
In a widely shared video on social media, the comic actor recounted the emotional turmoil he endured before his estranged wife, Muyibat, left their marriage.
He claimed that she repeatedly provoked him, seemingly hoping he would react violently, but he refused to do so.
“Before she moved out, she made my life miserable. She would intentionally push me to anger, expecting me to hit her, but I never did. It’s hard to raise a hand against someone you love. Despite everything, I didn’t want her to leave, so I tolerated it,” he said.
Ijoba Lande also pointed to financial struggles as a major challenge. He recalled once earning up to ₦3 million per month from Facebook and another ₦3 million from YouTube, along with income from influencer deals. However, his earnings dropped significantly after his accounts were demonetized, leaving him in financial difficulty.
In addition to these struggles, he alleged that his wife was unfaithful, refusing intimacy with him while being involved with other men.
“My wife always claimed she had hormonal issues whenever I approached her, but somehow, those issues didn’t exist with other men. I will always be cautious of women,” he said.
He also revealed that he had entrusted her with his finances.
“When I was financially stable, I handed her my ATM card and let her manage my money. I even gave her my savings contributions (‘ajo’), and I was the one funding hers as well,” he disclosed.
He further claimed that they had not been intimate for eight months and recalled a disturbing incident at their child’s naming ceremony.
“At the event, one of her lovers was present. They danced together, and at one point, he even tapped her on the backside,” he alleged.
Ijoba Lande concluded by stating that several industry figures had been involved with his wife but revealing their names could put him in danger.
“If I start mentioning those who have been with my wife in this industry, I may not make it home because some of them are very powerful,” he warned.
