On Tuesday, the Naira displayed a slight improvement against the dollar, reaching an exchange rate of N742.10 at the official window. This marked a 4.06% increase from its previous rate of N773.50 against the dollar on Monday, as reported by NAN.
The open indicative rate concluded at N761.24 to the dollar for the day. The highest rate during trading hours stood at N807.15 before settling at N742.10. Conversely, the Naira saw transactions as low as N738 against the dollar within the day’s trading.
However, in the parallel market, the Naira traded at N924/$1.
Notably, $42.26 million was traded at the investors and exporters window on Tuesday.
This development occurs following the recent commitment made by the Acting Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, who pledged to address the country’s forex challenges.
