A Nigerian mother who recently sparked outrage on social media after a video showed her appearing to feed her infant with an alcoholic beverage has spoken out to clarify the incident.
In a new video, the woman explained that the content in the sachet was not alcohol but a soft drink. She claimed that she only used an empty alcohol-branded sachet to create a misleading scene intended to generate viral content.
According to her, the entire act was staged for attention, and she never actually gave alcohol to her child, who she said is just five months old. She emphasized that she understands the dangers of giving alcohol to a baby and would never do such a thing.
It will be recalled that following the initial video, the Nigerian Police publicly condemned the act and appealed to the public for information that could help identify and apprehend the woman for possible prosecution.
