The Katsina State Government has announced it will cover all medical and associated costs for nine individuals injured in a recent car accident involving Governor Dikko Radda.

The incident occurred on Sunday night along the Katsina-Daura highway. Governor Radda was reportedly on his way from Daura, where he had been receiving condolence visits following the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari.

According to a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Dr. Bala Salisu Zango, the accident happened near the School of Health Technology in Daura when a private Volkswagen Golf vehicle collided with the governor’s convoy.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities. However, two of the nine passengers in the private vehicle sustained minor fractures, while the remaining seven suffered varying degrees of injuries and bruises.

All victims are currently receiving medical attention at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in Daura. Dr. Zango confirmed that the state government will fully fund their treatment and any related expenses.

A government delegation, led by Dr. Zango, visited the victims at the hospital to assess their condition and offer support. He reported that the victims are responding well to treatment and assured them of the government’s continued assistance.

In response, the victims and their families expressed gratitude for the government’s support and concern during their recovery.
