Controversial Nigerian musician, Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, known as Portable or Dr Zeh, asserted that he is determined to perform at a praise night hosted by a Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) branch in Lagos. In a viral video, Portable emphasized that the church should not judge him solely based on his appearance, asserting that he is also a child of God.
The event created a buzz on social media when a flyer featuring popular Fuji singer Pasuma, May-Shua, and Portable as invited artists for the Celestial church event surfaced online. This sparked varied reactions across different social media platforms, with netizens criticizing the church’s choice of performers.
However, the Shepherd-in-charge of the Celestial Church of Christ International Headquarters in Ketu, Olatosho Oshoffa, publicly disapproved of the invitation extended to the trio. Oshoffa condemned Portable and Pasuma’s inclusion in the praise night, mentioning on his Facebook page that he had instructed the parish cleric to rectify the posters, affirming that the singers were no longer part of the event.
In response to the cancellation, Portable urged the church not to obstruct what he perceived as ‘God’s work.’ He expressed his belief that he was destined to perform at the praise night and encouraged his fans and supporters within the Celestial church to rally and protest, advocating for his and Alhaji Pasuma’s participation in the ‘Christian’ gathering.
