Nigerian street-pop musician Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, has declined a ₦100 million offer to engage in a physical altercation with controversial social media personality Martins Otse, popularly called VeryDarkMan (VDM). Portable insisted he would only consider the challenge if the offer was increased to ₦1 billion.
Tension between the two public figures escalated after Portable criticized VDM for consistently attacking President Bola Tinubu’s administration. Their disagreement has since evolved into a public feud, with both sides trading insults and releasing diss tracks on various online platforms.
In a widely circulated video, Portable described the ₦100 million offer as insignificant, claiming such an amount is what he routinely receives from his supporters.
“₦100 million? My fans give me that. It’s too small to get me involved in a fight with VDM,” he said. “If someone can put down ₦1 billion, then I’ll fight him and defeat him.”
He added, “You’re afraid of him, can’t detain him, yet you expect me to fight him.”
