Content creator Folorunsho Olayinka, popularly known as Finest, has revealed that late skit maker Raji Samad Adetola, also called Sanku, had not fully paid for the vehicle involved in the crash that killed him. According to Olayinka, Sanku purchased a 2012 Lexus RX 350 SUV on credit and still owed about ₦13 million to the dealer at the time of his death.

Sanku died on September 2, 2025, in a fatal accident along Ogbomoso Road, Oyo State, after his SUV plunged into a river. News of his death was first shared online by actor Yemi Elesho.

Speaking during a TikTok livestream to address rumours surrounding the incident, Olayinka said he only acted as a guarantor for Sanku and had no involvement in the crash. He disclosed that the comedian initially planned to buy the vehicle for ₦25.4 million from JJ Motors Empire and Services Limited. A receipt dated June 5, 2025, showed Sanku had paid ₦7 million upfront and later made instalment payments totalling ₦12.28 million before his death.

“I was only his guarantor because the dealer knew me,” Olayinka explained. “I didn’t ask him to travel to Ilorin; he requested a driver, which I provided. What would I gain from harming someone who still owed about ₦13 million, for whom I stood as guarantor?”

He added that he possessed voice notes of Sanku thanking him for standing as his guarantor and said he personally sent people to the accident scene and later provided funds for medical treatment of those injured.

Meanwhile, a friend of the deceased, who preferred anonymity, told reporters that Sanku had been under pressure to return the Lexus for a Nigerian-used Toyota Venza because of outstanding payments, leaving a balance of about ₦2.3 million on the swap deal.
