Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Ilorin have arrested 28 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud. The operation was carried out on Tuesday across several locations in the Kwara State capital.
According to a statement released by the anti-graft agency, the arrests followed credible intelligence linking the suspects to cybercrime activities within Ilorin. The EFCC disclosed that its officers raided different areas, including Tanke, University Road, Oshin, and Agbabiaka, where the suspects were apprehended.
Items recovered during the sting operation included seven luxury vehicles—among them a new Toyota Corolla and a Lexus—two motorcycles, as well as high-end mobile phones and laptops believed to be tools for fraudulent activities.
The agency added that the suspects would be charged in court once investigations are concluded.
