The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin, has expressed deep sympathy with residents affected by the recent bandit attack in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

Ogundoyin condemned the attack, describing the killing of innocent people and the destruction of property as tragic and unacceptable. He noted that the incident has brought pain and grief to families and communities in the area.

In a statement, the Speaker extended his condolences to those who lost loved ones and wished a speedy recovery to victims who sustained injuries during the attack.

He praised the lawmaker representing Oriire State Constituency, Hon. Johnson Ogundele, for his swift intervention and solidarity with constituents in the aftermath of the incident.

Calling the attack a difficult moment for the state, Ogundoyin assured the people of Oriire that they are not alone in their grief. He said the House of Assembly shares in their pain and remains committed to supporting efforts aimed at restoring peace.

The Speaker also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his prompt response and steps taken to reinforce security in the affected area.

He reaffirmed the Assembly’s readiness to back both legislative and executive measures designed to strengthen security across Oyo State and protect vulnerable communities.

Ogundoyin further urged security agencies to enhance intelligence gathering and surveillance to prevent similar incidents in the future and ensure the safety of residents across the state.
