Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has cast his vote in the ongoing governorship election at his polling unit in Ede North Local Government Area of the state.
Drivetvnews gathered that Adeleke arrived at Ward 02, Abogunde Sagba, at about 8:10am on Saturday before casting his ballot.
The governor is seeking re-election on the platform of the Accord Party after defecting from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, under which he won the 2022 governorship election.
A total of 15 political parties are participating in the election, although two candidates — Adesina Adeyemi-Doro of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and Simon Adewale of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM — had earlier withdrawn from the race.
Adeleke, who is the uncle of Afrobeats star Davido, is facing challengers from the All Progressives Congress, APC, the African Democratic Congress, ADC, the People’s Redemption Party, PRP, and other parties.
The election is being closely watched as voters across the state decide who will govern Osun for the next four years.
